Academia’s Certificate III in Individual Support will enable you to work in residential aged care facilities or community settings such as home care, to provide assistance and care to the elderly.

You will learn to maintain personal care and manage and implement other activities for those living in an aged care setting and other community settings.

The Certificate III in Individual Support is delivered face-to-face, through a combination of tutorials, workshops, and practical training in our simulated environment by our highly qualified training staff.

Our simulated environment consists of equipment and machinery that students will be required to operate within the industry. You will be assessed through written tests, assignments and work placement.

WORK PLACEMENT

Students will be able to put into practice the skills that they have learnt in the classroom through placement at a registered aged care facility.

Work placement is organized for you at one of Academia’s industry partners. This allows our students to put into practice the skills they have learnt through tutorials and workshops.

Academia has a strong industry connection; currently, we are partnered with more than 20 Aged Care facilities in Melbourne.

The work placement requirement of this qualification is 120 to 150 hours.

STUDY, ASSESSMENT METHODS AND FACILITIES

The Certificate 3 in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) is offered in Melbourne and will combine classroom training with on the job training by our highly qualified training staff. Students will be able to put into practice skills that they have learnt in classroom through placement at a registered facility. Excursions to facilities, Trainer demonstrations on specific concepts and guest speakers will enhance the learning experience. Resources and equipment used to train Students will be to industry standards.
